Obstetric Services we provide:

• Antenatal Care at our consulting rooms within the Wexford Medical Centre on the SJOG Murdoch Campus

• Delivery/ Birth at SJOG Murdoch hospital only, also No Gap provider for all health funds (dependant of patient maternity coverage)

• Postnatal review appointment, incl. screening and cervical screening test if required.

• Vaginal/ Natural Birth After Caesarean Section (VBAC) / (NBAC)

• Care and delivery of Twin pregnancy DCDA and MCDA (identical)

• High risk and low risk pregnancy management

• External Cephalic Version (ECV) - offered for breech presentation

• Natural birth/ active birth

• Delayed cord clamping

• Skin to skin

• Caesarean Section

• Maternal assisted Caesarean Section

What to expect at your antenatal appointments with us 

There are usually 10-11 antenatal appointments in total, more appointments may be required if there is a clinical indication.

Booking In appointment at 16weeks - duration 1hr

• Consultation with midwife and Specialist Dr Fowler

• Comprehensive medical and obstetric history

• Screening:

  • Mental health etc

  • Height and weight

  • Blood pressure

  • Urine analysis

  • Abdominal palp

  • Fetal Heart rate/ ultrasound

Follow up antenatal appointments - duration 40mins

• Consultation with midwife and Specialist Dr Fowler 

• Discussion of any clinical results/ testing

• Comprehensive discussion of antenatal, labour, delivery, postnatal topics

• Screening:

  • Weight

  • Blood pressure

  • Urine analysis

  • Fetal Heart rate/ ultrasound
